BI connector - Getting started

You can create a link between your Winner Bizz installation and your chosen data viewer and report generator.

What is "BI"?

Business Intelligence, also known as BI, provides the user with relevant data from Winner Bizz that can be processed and analysed to obtain decision-supporting results and analysis. 

What type of data can be exported? 

Note! Some data viewer tools have premium versions that requires a subscription. 

Note: The BI connector supports OData V4.

Users can retrieve data from Winner Bizz in order to connect data viewer tool, for example, Power BI, QlikView, Tableau. Each database owner will be able to share their data, for example, it allows a shop to share its data with the company.

How to access to the BI service

To be able to configure the BI connector, Cyncly must have configured your account with the Cloud Database and BI Extension. On the user side, the BI connector settings role must be granted to the user in Winner Bizz.

1. Go to Other > Users > Select the desired user > User’s roles > BI connector.
   
   
2. Click Save.
   
   

How to configure connection to an external application

Go to Other > Application settings > BI connector.

1. BI database alias
   For the field concerning the name of your BI database, please choose a name representative of your shop that will allow you to be recognised and distinguished from others in case you share your database with a shop or another person.
   
   
2. Security Key
   In order to secure your data access, you must define a security key. If this is the first time this window opens, Winner Bizz will ask you if you want to initialise a database with the creation of a security key.
   
   

   • Click Yes. This will allow you to link to the database created and will be used in the data viewer tool.

      

   • To copy the security key to your data viewer tool please select the More options icon:
     
     
     
     

   • You can paste this key into a file or directly into the chosen application.
     
     

3. Last update
   The last update field shows you the last time the BI database was updated.
   
   
4. Content button
   
   • Initialize the BI database: In case you have not initialised your BI database yet, you can do using this function. You will be asked to enter your web portal credentials. If you do not have these, please contact Cyncly.
     
     
   • Generate new security key: If for any reason you wish to reset this key go to Content > Generate new security key.
     
     
   • Update now: The data will be updated daily, if you want to force an update, click on this option.
     
     
   • Reinitialize the BI content: If you notice any anomalies in the display of your data, please select this option. It will empty the entire BI database and reload it.
     Note: This may take some time, depending on the amount of data.

How to share BI database

• Shared by me: Shows the users with whom you currently share your BI database.
  
  
• Shared with me: Shows the users who currently share their BI database with you.

1. Share your database
   
   
   

   Click Share.

   A window allowing you to send a security key via email.

   Note! The sharing security key is valid for 24 hours after it has been generated.
   
   

2. Join a BI database from a partner
   
   
   

   Once the email is received containing the security key shared by a partner, click Join and paste the security key into the field. click Join again.
